Las Joyas - first pics

Here are a couple of pics from my work in progress course Las Joyas. It's set in Northern Spain in the rolling wooded terrain outside the town of Gijon. The name translates as The Jewels. Hopefully this course will have 18 of them!!

The course is more heavily wooded than most of my other courses and the trees encroach upon play a little more. This makes for a secluded and peaceful atmosphere as the course winds it's way through an past lakes and streams. The sand bunkers are surrounded by golden dormant bermuda grass which provides a nice contrast to the startling white silica sand.

The course also has some of the most amazing 3d buildings yet seen for links. As previously mentioned a while back in the news section, Pat Auge has built some amazing 3d structures for this course, from the log clubhouse (made with individual logs!) to wooden arched bridges and corrugated metal greenkeepers buildings that have real corrugations! Great stuff which adds to the overall atmosphere of the course.

Here are the first two pics of the course which will give you an idea of what to expect. There'll be lots more pics to follow.
