More Rugged Dune
Here are a few more pics as the course approaches alpha testing. I know....... it seems like it's been nearing testing for months but I promise there's not long to go now!
I'm very satisfied with the natural look the course has and of all the courses that Rugged Dune took inspiration from, I guess the closest in look would be Sand Hills, the masterful creation by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore that sits in the middle of the Nebraska dunelands.
The fairway blending here has been based upon elevation so you'll find the worn and dry looking textures at high spots and slopes in the terrain and more varied mixed grass textures on the low spots as the moisture would collect here in real life and a host of slightly different grass types would start to grow. I'm think I'm getting better at this type of blending with every release and hopefully the screens will give some idea of what I'm waffling on about!
