Some experiments..............

Since the release of Crystal Pines I've been kept busy with a few different projects but after winning a copy of the classic book "Design for Golf" by Wethered and Simpson on Ebay I was tempted to delve once again into the experimental waters of the APCD!

The wonderful drawings by Tom Simpson looked so good that it promted me to try to capture some of natures beauty much as he had done and mix it with an entertaining and exhilarating test of golf.

The bunkers were to be as though the hand of man had little to do with their creation but instead had formed almost of their own accord in dips, swails and etched into the side of hillocks. Clumps of tall native grasses cling to the bunkers and you'll notice that their edges are ragged and rough without the smooth curves that we have come to expect from many of todays over manicured courses. Escape from these pits will be no easy matter as fortune has a part to play here. Find an unkind lie and your chance of a simple recovery is gone.

I find this type of landscape an inspiring site for a golf course - I hope you do to.

BTW there is no texture blending in these pics apart from the bunkers themselves so some areas away from the bunkers may look odd,
